ROADworks along the Queens and Kings roads in the Western Division are progressing well, according to engineers.
Despite roadworks continuously holding up traffic along the Nadi-Lautoka stretch and the Ba-Lautoka highway, acting west road engineer Joji Mate said the rehabilitation was expected to be completed by the end of the year.
"We have two major upgrade works in Nayawa and Yadua, both in Sigatoka. We're also working on rehabilitation works in Korovuto in Nadi and at the Navutu roundabout in Lautoka," he said. "Apart from that, work along the stretch between Ba and Lautoka including Tavua and Rakiraki is also progressing well."
Mr Mate said the department was planning on introducing new culverts at the Sigatoka roadworks.
"For the past 30 years, we have been using old steel culverts which tend to rust," said Mr Mate.
