NATABUA High School has been equipped with brass band instruments worth more than $20,000.
The assistance was initiated by Lautoka-based Australian volunteers Sue and Terry Metcalfe who raised more than $16,000 for the project.
Yesterday the Rotarians and Ron Seeto, the district governor overseeing Rotary clubs in Fiji, were at the school to inspect the equipment and listen to a few tunes put together by the students.
Arriving from Auckland, New Zealand, Mr Seeto will also be part of an entourage visiting the Food for Education project that the Rotary Club of Lautoka has contributed to over the past year.
The group will also visit the Koroipita Housing Project in which Rotary International is contributing over $300,000 via a 3H (Health, Hunger, and Humanity) grant
Through Rotary Fiji, more than $500,000 in relief has been distributed to flood-affected areas in the west and the tour will include an inspection of areas that were assisted.
