THE Nadi Rugby Union has been boosted with a $10,000 sponsorship from apparel manufacturer M Recht Accessories ahead of the Farebrother-Sullivan Trophy challenge against Nadroga this Saturday.

The last-minute deal will see the Iliesa Tanivula-coached side known as M Recht Nadi.

The Nadi rugby management have opted to keep a low profile in the lead up to the match. NRU secretary Noa Neivalu said the team had been preparing well.

He said there was a lot of rivalry between Nadi and Nadroga especially when it came to the Farebrother-Sullivan Trophy challenge.

"The team has been preparing well and the focus is on the game," Neivalu said.

"Nadi and Nadroga are arch rivals and this will be a big game for both teams. We have taken the right strategies in terms of our preparations for the match.

"We are thankful to the sponsors for coming on board during this hard time. It will be a boost for the players and Nadi rugby as a whole as we prepare for the clash. Our other sponsors include Nakovacake Development Trust, Kriz Signs, Budget Pharmacy, Westfield Investments and Apro."

"We would like the fans to come out in numbers to support the boys."

M Recht operations manager Ajinesh Kumar said they were not new to Nadi rugby having sponsored the team before.

Nadi last held the Farebrother-Sullivan Trophy title in 2009 losing it to Naitasiri after going down in the fourth challenge 21-37.
