THE western selection will be aiming for a fifth consecutive title when they take on their eastern counterparts in the annual East versus West challenge at the Fiji Golf Club in Vatuwaqa on Sunday.

National reps Anuresh Chandra and Roneel Prakash will lead the charge for the West team in the top flight.

Veteran Rajen Singh of Ba will also be part of the side.

Inform Vikrant Chandra will spearhead the eastern campaign. Vikrant won the Total Fiji Vatukoula Open last Sunday.

The national rep won the Fiji Amateur and Nadi Open titles earlier this year.

Fellow national rep Olaf Allen Jr will play alongside Vikrant.

In the B grade, West will include Salesh Singh of Nadi and Joyti Lal of Ba.

National Golf Association secretary Amitesh Chandra said West had won the title for the past four years.

He said the pressure would be on the home side with the westerners looking to stretch their winning record.

"The foursomes will be played in the morning," Amitesh said.

"This will be followed by singles matches to be played in the afternoon."

The western clubs have combined to foot the bill for the West team for the one-day meet.
