THE Lautoka Magistrates Court has ordered Ben Padarath to remain in police custody until next year when his case will be recalled.
Mr Padarath was charged with one count of attempting to stow away by allegedly trying to board a fishing vessel bound for New Caledonia in July.
His case has been adjourned to January 29.
Meanwhile, 43-year-old Samuela Ledua, the grandfather charged with one count of murder for the death of his one-year-old grandson will appear at the High Court in Lautokanext month.
Mr Ledua made his first appearance at the Nadi Magistrates Court on Monday.
According to divisional police prosecutor Assistant Superintendent of Police Anil Prasad, his plea has been deferred.
ASP Prasad said Ledua would remain at the Lautoka Corrections Centre until his next court appearance on October 3.
