A NEW orphanage will soon be built in Nadi for the residents of the Treasure House Children's Home.

Home founder Paul Ross said construction of the home would be funded by donations made from business houses and the public.

Mr Ross said his family had set up a charity fund to raise money to build a larger house for the treasure house orphanage.

"Every dollar donated goes to the building of the new house. The Ross family personally pays for all administration costs associated with the charity fund so 100 per cent of money donated will go towards the building of the house," he said.

Mr Ross urged the public to assist them in building the new home and to plan a Christmas party for them at the end of November.

"If anyone would like to donate toward the building of the new orphanage or have goods or services for the Christmas party please contact me through www.treasurehouse.co.nz"

According to the group, some of the children come from very troubled backgrounds and have had an extremely tough start to life.

Twenty children from the home were recently treated to a day of fun and free food at McDonald's over the weekend.
