COUPLES have been told that marriage is about honouring each other.

Speaking at a workshop for couples, who work for the Fiji Police Force, Commissioner Brigadier General Ioane Naivalurua thanked the couples for attending such workshops.

The workshop is aimed at enhancing family values for growth and development in the force.

More than 20 couples attended the opening of the two-day workshop yesterday.

Based on the theme Building Couple Relationship in the Organisation, police spokesman Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said the couples were expected to improve on their marriage relationships after the workshop.

Brig-Gen Naivalurua said the event was a historic occasion and it was done for the betterment of the families, who would then contribute effectively to the oneness and wellness of the organisation.

He told the participants that one needed to be well physically, spiritually and most importantly everything should be well at home. Bri-Gen Naivalurua said family was important.

His comments follow his previous warnings to officers to pull up their performance.
