WINNER of the Best School Garden contest at the 2012 Crest Agriculture Show, Sabeto College, received the spoils of their victory last week.
Agriculture Department principal administrative officer and co-ordinator of this year's show Ratu Eliki Tikoidraubuta said the Nadi school was one of many from the Western Division that took part in the event but stood out.
It won a laptop and printer valued at $2500.
The winning school's principal, Rajesh Chand, said the award was an inspiration for them to do better in next year's contest. "With a roll of 300 students in the school who mostly come from farming backgrounds, the award has indeed lifted our morale and we will continue to work with the students on improving our school garden," he said.
