FLAMINGOES rugby touch team is a force to be reckoned with at the Fiji Touch Rugby club competition this season.

Flamingoes drew 5-all with last year's finalists Bombers in their opening game last week and looked to be on par with the top teams of the competition.

Fiji Touch president Georgina Lasaqa said Flamingos had shown that they would be a threat in the competition. She said they had good players who were improving with their game.

"Flamingoes has come up with another two teams this season and they are one of the top teams in the competition. They made a good start last week and I have no doubt they will cause upsets and surprises this season," Lasaqa said.

"They are a force to reckon," she said.

She said they were happy to continue with the competition.

"We started last week with round one and now into round two. Teams are responding and we hope to get the momentum going as we progress through the season," Lasaqa added.

The Flamingoes under-16 side beat Raiwaqa Flyers 5-1 while its men's super premier team beat Barbarians 7-3 over the weekend at Furnival Park.
