THE touring New Zealand Fiji Rugby League Under-17 team will play three matches in Suva on Thursday as part of the Tagitupou Challenge.

The 21-member squad arrives in the country this afternoon and will head straight to Suva from the Nadi International Airport.

NZFRL liaison officer Dylan Datt said they were an official arm of the Fiji National Rugby League promoting the sport within the Fijian community in New Zealand.

He said three Fijians of Indian descent were part of the squad.

"The team has 21 players all with direct links to Fijian heritage," Datt said.

"The matches will be organised by the FNRL. We will have training runs on Tuesday and Wednesday in Suva before the matches on Thursday.

"We have six team officials and 10 parents as supporters.

"The team has been invited for dinner by New Zealand High Commission on Tuesday."
