THE under-14 Macuata rugby team were treated to a thanksgiving dinner in Labasa on Saturday night for making it to the final of the Milo Kaji Rugby tournament last month.
The dinner, hosted by the parents, was a token of appreciation to the brave northern Sharks for their outstanding performance and hardwork.
The Sharks lost to Suva 5-0 at Prince Charles Park in Nadi during the two weeks school holiday. Speaking on behalf of the parents, Puamau Qalobula said the dinner was initially planned before the boys left for Nadi.
Coach Tomasi Uluiviti said one of his players had been eyed by the Fiji Rugby Union (FRU) as a national player in the future.
"The FRU has chosen Veresi Dakuwaqa as an upcoming national rep and we are really happy because the fruit of our hard work is paying off slowly," Uluiviti said.
