ALL the way from United Kingdom, Bamboozle made sure her presence was felt at the 29th Fiji Regatta Week after it won the race from Musket Cove to Beachcomber Island in the Mamanucas yesterday.

The regatta race was part of the Pirates Day, which was later celebrated at the Beachcomber Island Resort.

The boat overcame tough competition from firm favourites Take A Break led by Captain Dave to claim the first prize in the week long event.

Bamboozle was behind Take A Break but took the lead when her crew attacked the latter with water balloons, which was allowed in the 'fun' race for the boats to gain advantage.

Winning captain Jamie Telfer, who is a first timer to this event, thanked his crew for their support.

They included his wife Lucy, Robin and Nick of Endangered Species, Grahame and Lynn of Adamite and Chris, Debbie, Connor and Stephanie of Kiwi.

"This is my first time but not the last. I'm coming back again next year and hopefully participate in many more years to come," Jamie, who adapted the name Jamie Sparrow during the race, said.

The Fiji Regatta Week continues with golf and hobie cat today. Hobie Cat will end with the finals on Thursday.
