The police have teamed up with the Department of Immigration to investigate the issue relating to three Asian women who have been allegedly forced into prostitution after being brought to Fiji last week.

Confirming this to The Fiji Times director Immigration Major Nemani Vuniwaqa said the three women were now at a safe house.

Major Vuniwaqa said the two Asian men who were also involved were being detained at the Department of Immigration detention centre.

"The matter is being investigated and finer details cannot be released," he said.

Meanwhile, earlier this week the department conducted a raid at a hotel in Suva and the three Asian women and two men were located in three different rooms.
