THE Pacific Islands Private Sector Organisation has organised a workshop to assess its weaknesses and establish its priorities for the next five years.

In a statement, the organisation said the Nadi workshop scheduled for September 18 to 20 would evaluate and review the effectiveness of PIPSO since its establishment in 2007.

PIPSO chief executive officer Mereia Volavola said that in order to be the leading organisation in the Pacific for the private sector, it was important that the workshop clearly mapped out its future directions.

The key objectives of the workshop are an analysis of PIPSO's current performance and to identify weaknesses, establish priorities for the next five years, establish measurement and performance indicators and assess the funding needs required to achieve its projected tasks.

The planning process will include PIPSO members made up of 14 Forum Island Countries' national private sector organisations and five affiliate and associate members.
