EDUCATION remains the key priority of the Ba Provincial Council as it prepares for a week-long fundraising drive to assist students of the province next month.
Education committee and fundraising committee organiser Saimoni Naivalu said the council had contributed more than $4million towards the education scheme over the years.
He said the Adi Salusalu fundraising drive had picked up momentum with the province's 21 districts expected to give to the cause.
Mr Naivalu said Nawaka was the only district to have sold all its lottery tickets and earned $12,000 for the fundraising drive.
"The districts will not donate any money but they have been issued lottery tickets to sell," he said.
"Incentives will be given to those districts that sell all their tickets.
"An integrated approach has been adopted for the first time in which all stakeholders including government bodies, statutory authorities, the private sector and the 13 provinces in Fiji have been invited to participate at this year's carnival," he said.
Mr Naivalu said the lottery tickets were expected to rake in more than $500,000.
The Adi Salusalu starts on October 19.
