IT was a sea of colours as the City of Suva came to a standstill during the march celebrating Fiji's golden boy Iliesa Delana's achievements yesterday morning.
And the Fiji flag was raised high as people from all walks of life gathered to celebrate his historical achievement at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London.
Traffic and businesses came to a halt as Delana led the march from the Flea Market to Albert Park.
Students from special schools took the opportunity to sing their hearts out and shouted Delana's name throughout the march.
The happy occasion drew thousands of people out of their homes and offices to line Victoria Parade while hundreds more awaited the procession at Albert Park to receive Delana.
Also part of the march were staff from ANZ Bank who sponsored Delana at the London event.
Delana waved his hands in disbelief to the people who turned up to salute his Paralympics victory.
People carried placards on the streets carrying the words "You are our hero", "Vinaka Delana" and "Moments of Truth" to name a few.
