For charity

THE Waidamdam Golf group will give $600 to the Chevalier Hostel Home today as part of its project. The group, which is formerly known as QVSOB Club is made up of former students from RKS, MBHS, St John College, RSMS, and expatriates diplomats. The club has done projects with the Butt St Methodist Church Youth Group for the past two years, Dilkusha Home, contributed funds to help rebuild the Levuka Public School dormitory and repair works QVS dormitories. In sports, the group contributed to the QVS U18 team’s preparation for its defence of the Deans Trophy and recently sponsored the Junior Golf Championship at the Fiji Golf Club.

Crushers three

THE Lautoka Crushers Rugby League club will be playing in three games during the grand final of the Vodafone Fiji National Rugby League club competition this weekend. The Lautoka side’s under-18, U14 and U16 are just a step away from re-writing another chapter in the history books. Already history was created when all three teams qualified for the finals. The Crushers rugby league has groomed rugby union sevens stars Metuisela Talebula and Joji Ragamate who are household names in the international sevens arena.

Labasa golf

The Labasa Golf Club will host an 18-hole stroke event this weekend in Labasa. Last week Vinod Chand won the 36-hole stroke event. Chand is expected to provide tough competition against Dinesh Goundar, Keshwar Goundar, Surrend Kumar and Ramen Prasad. The event which is sponsored by Fiji Bandag tees off at 1pm at the Labasa Golf Club.
