Men’s and women’s teams will battle it out for the prestigious Reginald and Dorothy Eastgate Memorial trophies. In addition, mixed under-14 development teams will also be battling for the Apted Trophy.

National Sports Science Conference
THE Fiji Physiotherapy Association in partnership with Fiji Rugby Union and the Ministry of Health will conduct a National Sports Science Conference titled “Supporting a Healthy Nation through Sports” on September 15 and 16 at the Pacifica Auditorium at College of Medicine, Nursing and Allied Health FNU in Suva. Guest speakers include Dr. Grant Mawston (AUT; NZ) who will lead the “Back symposium”; Physiotherapist Kate Polson (NZ) who will present her paper on “Best practice guidelines on AC joint separations.” Other speakers include local experts who will present on the following topics: Imaging in Sports; Appropriate Periodisation to Prevent Injuries; Sports Psychology - Going for Gold 2016; ACL Protocol for Fiji; The use of GPS for Performance Analysis; Video Analysis in Sports; Latest development in Doping in Sports. The conference will see two full days of academic and practical presentations. It will be opened by the Minister for Youth and Sports, with Dr Tukana delivering the key note address on Healthy Islands through Sports. The conference is open to all physiotherapists, coaches, trainers, sports medicine volunteers, doctors, sports scientists, sports first aiders, PE teachers and anyone involved in safety and welfare of the sporting population. Registration fee is $50 for Fiji Physiotherapy Association Members (Extra $15.00 for dinner), $100 for non-members (includes dinner) and $20 for physio students (extra $15.00 for dinner).
