VILLAGERS of Lomaloma in Macuata have bigger plans in life to benefit their families.
With the sale of dalo and yaqona as their only source of income, the villagers developed their farms to support their children’s education and also finance other household needs.
Village headman Mikaele Leweniqila said they depended on the two commodities for financial support ever since their forefathers set foot in the area some decades ago.
“Not only the adults are planting dalo and yaqona in their own farms but also the youths and school students who have made an effort to look for ways to support their education. Some students have moved on to study in recognised institutions and overseas,” Mr Leweniqila said.
