GOLD medallist Iliesa Delana’s sponsors Digicel Fiji says it is delighted to celebrate its brand ambassador’s win with other company markets globally.
And to celebrate the win, the company offers its customers a $5 free on-net credit today which will expire at midnight.
While Digicel did not allow an interview with Delana, it instead sent a statement to say the gold medal win marked a momentous occasion and a proud moment for all Fijians.
“As the whole nation celebrates his victory, I on behalf of Iliesa’s colleagues at Digicel Fiji extend my hearty congratulations to Iliesa, Team Fiji and the Paralympic association for the remarkable performance at the Paralympics,” Digicel Fiji chief executive officer David Butler said.
“On a personal note, it has been inspiring seeing Iliesa develop as an athlete and individual, winning silver medal at the World Championships in 2011 and becoming Fiji’s sports personality of the year and finally winning the gold medal at the London 2012 Paralympic Games,” Mr Butler said.
He said the firm was honoured to have played a small part in Iliesa’s journey and success.
“We were also delighted to be able to support the government in the homecoming celebrations, they have truly done a tremendous job,” he said.
Mr Butler said Delana’s triumphs and challenges was an inspiration to his co-workers at Digicel Fiji.
