SHE might be enjoying the luxuries of life as the reigning Miss Teen Australia and Miss World Supermodel in the under-20 category but Michaela Swamy looks forward to her rare trips to her homeland for some delicious roti and curry.
The 17-year-old is in Fiji for five days to do promotional work with the Miss World Supermodel franchise and TappooCity.
On Saturday night, she was the chief guest at the Miss India Fiji Pageant.
"The two to three trips to Fiji I make every year is one that I always look forward to," she said.
"I love how laid back Fiji is. In Australia, everything is fast and on the go, but I can always expect Fiji to always tone things down. I love the atmosphere here and Fiji has always helped and reminded me of my Indian culture."
Ms Swamy did a photoshoot with TappooCity as its brand ambassador for its Diwali catalogue on Sunday.
She is expected to visit her father's family in Sigatoka today where she looks forward to digging into some tasty Indian cuisine.
"I miss my roti and curry so I can't wait for Wednesday. I love being around family in Fiji, they not only are a joy to be around but they also remind me of my deep Indian culture."
