culture to Pacific Islanders. Speaking at the opening ceremony, permanent secretary to the Office of the Prime Minister and the chief guest, Lieutenant
Colonel Pio Tikoduadua said the opening of the institute was important to the Pacific because it would enhance students' understanding of Chinese language, culture, music and dance. After the opening ceremony, delegates from both China and Fiji toured the newly established institute at USP.
