POLICE have advised motorists to drive carefully during this wet weather conditions.
This after a 15-year-old was among three people admitted in hospital after a 24-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle and hit the student.
The 15-year-old was walking on the side of the Lodoni Rd, Nananu, around 8pm on Monday night when he was hit.
Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said the vehicle came to a stop after hitting a bus stop post.
She said two men, aged 39 and 41 years respectively, were also admitted to the Korovou Hospital.
She said the driver and four passengers were returning from Qelekuro Village at the time of the accident.
Ms Naisoro said the driver of the vehicle would undergo further tests at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital as investigations continued.
"The roads are slippery and accidents can occur at any given time not only as a result of the weather conditions," she said.
"However when coupled with mechanical problems could lead to a tragedy.
"The message cannot be reiterated enough and motorists must change their attitude on our roads and consider everyone's safety that has a right to use our roads."
