CONCERNED residents in the Sugar City are calling for the removal of rain trees that have been a feature of Lautoka for many decades.

Anit Singh from Simla said the old trees had outgrown their usefulness and were a road hazard.

Divisional road engineer west Joji Mate referred all queries to the Fiji Roads Authority but confirmed that requests to cut the trees had been received by the department.
