INSURANCE Holdings (Fiji) Ltd has been appointed as the Fijian member of the Willis Global Network — a network of independent broker partners to Willis Group Holdings (NYSE:WSH).

Willis Group Holdings has over 17,000 employees in 400 offices across more than 120 countries.

"The relationship with Willis will give Insurance Holdings Fiji access to the vast expertise and capabilities of Willis Group, one of the world's oldest and largest insurance brokers. In return, Willis, who doesn't have an office in Fiji, will strengthen its global offering by having a company of Insurance Holdings Fiji's standing as its local partner," a company statement said.

John Thatcher, the general manager of Insurance Holdings Fiji, said being appointed to the Willis Global Network would enable the company to further develop and deliver professional insurance and risk management solutions for clients worldwide, while still maintaining their independence.

"Willis has a very strong presence in high-growth regions like Asia that our clients are particularly interested in doing business with. In 2011, Willis was named Asia Broker of the Year and today has the largest footprint of all the global brokers in China with 23 offices," he said.

Mr Thatcher said Willis had world-leading expertise in a number of industries like Energy, Mining and Construction, where risks were hard to insure and added that Insurance Holdings Fiji could now tap into those international resources for the benefit of their clients.
