FIJI will celebrate the historical win by Iliesa Delana at the 2012 Paralympic Games on Thursday.
This was confirmed by the Minister for Youth and Sports, Commander Viliame Naupoto yesterday.
Commander Naupoto said the celebration would be held in Suva.
"It's not going to be a public holiday but we will have a national celebration," Commander Naupoto said.
"We are going to submit the programs to Cabinet tomorrow (today) for endorsement," he said.
Mr Naupoto said unfortunately the celebrations would not be held in the western and northen division as speculated.
Mr Delana is expected to arrive into the country tomorrow.
The 2012 Sportsman of the Year Award recipient became the first Fijian to win a gold medal at the Paralympics after he beat six other athletes in the F42 men's high jump.
