FILM Fiji is investigating a report that a movie production team shooting a film in the north has done so without proper permits.
Film Fiji CEO Florence Swamy confirmed this yesterday, saying it was brought to their attention that the team was shooting a documentary on the island without permits.
"The team was working through private local individuals to shoot a documentary," Mrs Swamy said in a statement.
"When Film Fiji found out about this production, we made contacts with the production company and brought several statutory and compliance requirements to their attention."
Mrs Swamy said they were working closely with the team in trying to regularise their production.
She could not comment further.
Immigration Department Director Major Nemani Vuniwaqa said they had not received any report on the matter from Film Fiji.
