THE 28th Sigatoka Bilibili Race is set to attract top teams for the competition next month.
The annual event will be held in conjunction with the Coca-Cola Fun Run on October 10.
Tournament co-ordinator Una Murray said Suva Holiday Inn, USP, the Warwick Fiji and Spa, Naviti Resort and Spa, Fiji Hideaway, Outrigger On The Lagoon Fiji, Sigatoka Electric, Shangri La Fijian Resort, Sofitel Resort and South Seas Cruise had confirmed their participation.
She said the event would start with the fun run in the morning from Fiji Hideaway.
Murray said the racing venue had undergone some changes which would help improve the standard of the event.
"The woods that were brought by the heavy flood to the Sigatoka river has been cleared and green grass and some plants on the river bank has been planted through the support of major resorts and hotels that are in the Sigatoka Bilibili Race."
Murray said they had also introduced the Green Challenge Bilibili Race 2012 in line with their vision of keeping the environment clean.
She said they would be raising awareness during the competition to educate people on the importance of keeping the surroundings clean.
"We hope that all participating teams will work together and to have cleaner and greener Sigatoka," Murray said.
