CATCHERS department worker Sailosi Waqawaqa scored the golden point that allowed Goodman Fielder (GF) to beat FMF 3-2 in the final of the Business House Hockey League on Friday night.

Both teams were locked at 2-all after full-time.

GF general manager Shaun Joils opened the scoring in the early minutes of first-half, however, Ravinesh Sharan equalised from a penalty stroke.

Sainimere Lenikali scored in the dying stages of first-half to allow GF to lead 2-1 at the break.

Kuna scored midway in the second-half as FMF — last year's bowl winners — made another comeback and forced the match into golden point.

Waqawaqa, 27, scored in the first five minutes to allow GF — who were runners-up to Navy last year — to win the title.

Navy could not return to defend their title because of duties.

Tournament co-ordinator Tai Smith said 11 business houses competed in the league that ran over six weeks.

"The participation of these business houses is two-fold as they boost the morale among the workers and more importantly reduce the risk of non communicable diseases by supporting the participation of their employees in participating in some fun exercise," she said.
