THE Methodist Church has acknowledged the role it has to play in combating non-communicable diseases with the revelation of church plans to combat this social ill.
Speaking to The Fiji Times yesterday, Methodist Church general secretary Reverend Tevita Nawadra said there were plans in the pipeline to formulate a church strategy against NCDs.
"There were motions brought about at the recent Methodist Church Conference, however, as you know we are as yet to touch on all the issues brought up because of time constraints," he said.
"However the Methodist Church still is taking NCDs very seriously and there are plans in the pipeline for us to address this issue."
NCDs in Fiji had a devastating effect on the population, some of who belonged to the Methodist Church which Mr Nawadra said would be dealt with in due course.
