Father's Day without dad

I MISS him every day, Elenoa Puamau said about her late husband Rupeni Puamau yesterday as she marked Fathers Day with her close family at his gravesite at the Vatuwaqa Cemetery.

The mother of five lost her husband last May, just eight days after they celebrated his 50th birthday. They marked his 100th night last weekend.

They were married for 22 happy years and having to adjust her role as a single parent, Mrs Puamau said it hadn't been easy.

"Rupeni was the one that enforced discipline in the family. He was loving and supportive but he made sure discipline was maintained with the children. That is what I miss most about him," she said.

"It hasn't been easy. There have been a lot of changes in the roles that I play now and every day I miss him."
