IDC fixture

TWENTY-eight teams will feature in the Courts Inter District Championship from October 10 to 14. Ten teams each will feature in the super premier and premier grade while four teams each will feature in the primary and secondary schools competition. Fiji FA chief executive officer Bob Kumar said they were hoping for a successful tournament this year. Labasa and Lami won the super premier and premier titles respectively last year.

Tough battle

SAVUSAVU is aiming to avoid crashing out of the super premier division. The side is one of the three teams in danger of finishing last in the Fiji Sun/GP Batteries National Football League along with Tavua and Navua. The northerners will also face a tough battle in the IDC after being drawn with giants Ba, Rewa, Suva and Nadi. Savusavu made the top flight after beating Nasinu in the Promotion/Relegation in 2010. The side was unable to stamp its mark in the domestic competition but defeated teams like Ba and Labasa in the NFL matches.

League title

ARMY and PS Civic will battle to remain undefeated in the Power Electric Suva Local League competition at Albert Park today. Both teams are unbeaten throughout the competition and are top contenders for the league title. Suva football president Mahen Prasad said two more rounds of competition was left. He said other top contenders for the super premier title were USP and Bureta. In the premier grade competition today, Flagstaff will face Settlers, Power Striker plays Country Club, Tacirua takes on United and Tamavua battles Pumas.
