THE University of the South Pacific installed its 19th Chancellor as well as the new Pro Chancellor at the institution's graduation ceremony in Laucala Bay on Friday.
Ulu-o-Tokelau — the head of Tokelau — Aliki Faipule Kerisiano Kalolo was made the 19th Chancellor of the university by Vice Chancellor Professor Rajesh Chandra
"The chancellor is the titular head of the university, who confers the qualifications of the university. We are privileged to have the Ulu-o-Tokelau, Aliki Faipule Kerisiano Kalolo, as our chancellor," he said.
"Your appointment and installation today truly demonstrates the regional character of this university and its importance to its member countries, large and small."
Accompanying this achievement was the appointment of the new Pro Chancellor, Ikbal Jannif of Fiji.
