IN an effort to empower women living with breast cancer in the country, the Fiji Cancer Society relaunched its famous Bra Art Competition yesterday.
The competition which started in 2005 aims to promote awareness and discussion on the often taboo topic of breast cancer.
Society president Nirmala Nambiar told The Fiji Times many have been touched by women diagnosed with breast cancer.
"The society's role through this competition is to promote awareness and question why one has to die through breast cancer," Ms Nambiar said.
She said regular check-ups and early detection were the keys to avoiding the deadly disease.
