PAYMENTS to dairy farmers have normalised as of yesterday, says Fiji Dairy Co-operative Limited chairman Joseva Seruilagilagi.
This follows concerns by Navua farmers that they had not been paid in the past three weeks despite their uninterrupted supply of milk to Fiji Dairy Co-op Ltd.
Navua Co-operative Dairy Farmers Association chairman Mele Tokpai said Navua farmers returned home empty-handed after delivering milk to the dairy. Mr Tokpai said the issue of delayed payments was an ongoing problem despite the farmers making every effort to supply milk.
Mr Serulagilagi said the delay in payment was because of the change in ownership. "We were trying to sort out the issues relating to the change in ownership of the Fiji Dairy Limited and the Fiji Co-operative Dairy last Friday," he said.
