PACIFIC Counselling and Social Services' name change to Empower Pacific has marked the start of a new era for the organisation.

CEO Rhianon Vichta said the rebrand signified the heightened commitment by the organisation to deliver services and empower the less fortunate.

"It is a time of change and a time of staying the same," Ms Vichta said at the Empower Pacific brand launch in Lautoka yesterday.

"What stays the same is our dedication to our clients and our commitment to providing the best possible services to support people to reach their full potential in life.

"What does not change is our passion for physical, psychological and social well-being for the health of individuals, families and communities."

Ms Vichta said Empower Pacific's decision to have its headquarters in Lautoka as opposed to Suva was based on its commitment to meeting people in their own communities.

"Empower Pacific has always positioned itself out of Western Fiji. This is unusual in the world of non-governmental-organisations, who tend to connect themselves to the Suva-based organisational network.

"We chose instead to connect ourselves with the people who needed us most."
