INTERCONTINENTAL Hotel Group (IHG) veteran Luke Mitchell has been appointed the InterContinental Fiji Resort and Spa's new assistant director of Food and Beverage.

InterContinental Fiji's general manager Scott Williams said Mr Mitchell, who had 11 years of experience under his belt, would greatly contribute to lifting the resort's exceptionally high standards even further.

"We are very excited to have a professional of Luke's calibre joining our team," Mr Mitchell said.

"He brings a wealth of knowledge and will be integral in implementing strategies to enhance our world-class guest service experience."

Mr Mitchell's commitment to delivering excellence and experience gained while engaged in the IHG's 'Room to Grow' program, which supports and develops personnel to pursue rewarding careers, has seen him progress from a banquets attendant at the Holiday Inn Surfers Paradise 11 years ago to his current role with InterContinental Fiji.

Mr Mitchell said he was focused on delivering memorable impressions of Fijian hospitality to guests at the award-winning resort and was also looking forward to developing his team.
