FIJI Paralympic interim president Sela Rayawa says Iliesa Delana's golden jump at the Paralympics in London is an inspiration to athletes with less disability.
Delana won the region's first-ever gold medal at the 2012 London games in the men's high jump 42 classification final on Tuesday.
He lost one leg in a road accident while he was three years old but it did not turn away his focus to create history despite his physical disabilities.
In a statement following Delana's victory, Rayawa said Delana had done the association, his family and the whole of Fiji proud.
