Up close and personal worship

ORGANISERS of the Synergy Night will hold their first acoustic night tomorrow, a stripped down event to create a more intimate setting of worship for young people.

Synergy Nights, a regular event to build and empower young Christian youths, is held every two months with a conference at the end of the year.

The event is designed to encourage young people to use their gifts and talent to encourage people around them through creative arts, dance, drama, music, poetry, art and sports to glorify God.

The Synergy Acoustic Night at the Wesley Church on Butt St is expected to create an up close and personal atmosphere for young people to come and fellowship.

"Compared to the normal Synergy Nights, this is more stripped down, mellow with a cosy and intimate setting. It's a night of acoustic worship, a worship by candlelight," said Ron Simpson, a member of the Synergy team.

"This way we will have an up close and personal, a more personal connection with other youth groups, another dimension and challenge to express our level of creativity."

Mr Simpson said the acoustic night was also a good networking platform for youth groups and an encouragement to those with limited worship resources that simple acoustic worship was sufficient for people to connect with God.
