THE Land Transport Authority has started investigations in relation to a bus driver dancing to the Azonto song while driving his bus.
Authority spokesman Alfred Wiliame confirmed they had viewed the video of the dancing driver uploaded on YouTube following calls to the authority by concerned citizens.
Mr Wiliame said the driver and the company owner would be hauled in to face the music.
In the video also viewed by this newspaper, the driver gets off his seat while dancing, lets go of the steering wheel and lifts his legs off the pedals while the passengers groove to the song amid shouts and cheers.
"The LTA team in the Western Division is looking into the issue," Mr Wiliame said.
"The bus company has been contacted and the driver will be asked to show cause to the chief executive officer."
Mr Wiliame said the matter was serious because the driver could have easily lost control of the vehicle and put the lives of the passengers at risk.
"Public Service Vehicle drivers have a code of conduct that they need to comply with," he said.
Mr Wiliame said they were also aware that the bus was hired for an excursion trip. "We will also write a letter of concern to the group that hired the bus for the excursion," he said.
Mr Wiliame is reminding all bus operators that the safety of travelling public is paramount and drivers must adhere to their responsibilities.
