IN their bid to improve their database, the Water Authority of Fiji reconnection process for disconnected meters has been amended.
And the authority has issued a stern warning to all its staff members that these changes must be strictly followed when addressing disconnected customers.
The authority says all customers who have their meters disconnected and would like to have them reconnected must now provide a copy of their:
* TIN confirmation letter;
* photo identification card such as FNPF card, passport, driver's licence or voters registration cards;
* telephone contacts; and
* one passport size photo.
A statement from the authority yesterday said: "For tenants who are renting or occupying the house where the owner is away overseas, they are required to also furnish the above particulars."
In cases where the property owner is deceased, the statement says whoever is occupying the house or whoever is going to buy the property must also produce the above requirements while the new owner awaits the formalisation of the title transfer.
The authority said customers must be reminded that without the above requirements, reconnection would not be carried out.
