THE Navosa Netball Association will use this weekend's Tako/Lavo mixed netball tournament to identify players for this month's National Championships in Lautoka.

Navosa netball president Judy Kumar said there was a lot of unknown talent in the province of Navosa and one way to help expose and develop this hidden talent was to organise tournaments like this.

"We have teams like Frendz, City Steelers, Get Set, Essendon, Inter/Con, Nahehevia and Cagnitoba who have confirmed their participation.

"We will select U19 and U23 teams, one open men's and three mixed teams to play in the National Championship in Lautoka on September 29th," Kumar said.

"We also want to thank our sponsors Fiji Gas, Food Hall Supermarket, RB Patel and Sigatoka River Safari."

Kumar said the one-day tournament was organised to help develop men and mixed netball in the province.

Kumar said they also planned to run a mini knockout for Navosa netball for open women's teams which would run for six weeks.

"We hope to host Western Rally on the Fiji Day holiday in Sigatoka and this would benefit us a lot as the annual BiliBili Race will also be held on that day," Kumar said.
