CHIEFS in Vanua Levu are gearing up for the Constitution Commission's visit expected at the end of the month.

The chiefs of Bua have met in a bose vanua to discuss their submissions to the commission..

While the Tui Wainunu, Ratu Orisi Baleitavea, preferred not to divulge details of the submissions being put together by chiefs, he said the vanua of Bua had outlined important issues they felt would take Fiji forward.

"We already met and discussed in the bose vanua that the province of Bua will have a collective submission under one umbrella," he said.

"However, this will not stop individuals within the province from making their own submissions. "We are also pleading with the people of Bua to make valuable submissions that will contribute effectively in their personal development, the development of the province of Bua and Fiji as a whole."

Macuata paramount chief Ratu Aisea Katonivere said the people of Macuata were preparing to make their voices heard during the submissions.

"Our roles and the issues that need to be highlighted during the submission is becoming clearer now since the media has been enlightening us as per the submission stories that have been aired through the media," said Ratu Katonivere.
