THE Topline Volleyball Association 2012-2013 club competition in Lautoka hopes to attract teams from as far as Rakiraki, Vatukoula and Tavua.

The TVA club competition is expected to commence later this month and will end in April next year.

The organisers of the competition have already started receiving registrations for the new season.

TVA president Ratu Viliame Naulivou said interest in the sport was high especially with the construction of the new court in the Natokowaqa area.

He said five of the players from their competition made it into the Kulawai training squad and featured in the Kulawai National League in Suva earlier this year.

Ratu Viliame said they would be looking for sponsors to cover for the transportation costs of the teams travelling from the other districts.

"We already have one registered team from Nadi and now another three teams are wishing to join from there," Ratu Viliame said.

"We will negotiate with the Lautoka City Council to construct another court because of the increase in the number of teams for the weekly competition. We are grateful to the Australian Sports Commission for supplying us the sports equipment."

The five players from the TVA competition who featured in the 2012 Kulawai National League include Lilian Drewai, Salanieta Tuiraviravi, Ro Ela Vasconcellas, Carolyn Smith and Sofaia Biauniceva.

The teams that are registered with the TVA include Tribe, Tigers, Phivers, Wildcards, Cultures, PRB, Liberty, Neighbours, Outcast, Outsiders, Lyx, Projects, Stoppers, Veiyasana, Kulawai, Sky Hawks, USP, and FNU.

Ratu Viliame said they would hold a meeting with all the team managers at the Public Rental Board hall in Natokowaqa this evening to finalise the opening of the new season.

He said Topline was the Western Rally champions.

Natokowaqa Topline PRB Youth Network Club in partnership with the LCC is in charge of the new court in the area.
