NADROGA rugby team manager Paula Biu believes the determination shown by their players during the opening challenge of the Farebrother-Sullivan trophy against Tailevu was commendable.
Nadroga defeated Tailevu 43-26 at Prince Charles Park in Nadi on Saturday.
Biu, a former national rep, said while the result was a positive one, they would not let it override the players.
He said they looked to a tougher challenge from Northland this Saturday.
"When you achieve whatever your goals are then it is a positive sign," Biu said.
"We are really happy with the result against Tailevu. We have managed to defend the first challenge, especially bringing the game from Lawaqa Park to Nadi.
"The credit goes to the boys as their teamwork and commitment stood out. Tailevu gave us a tough time. It was good for us as we can prepare better for the next challenge."
The remaining challenges include Nadi on September 15, Suva on September 22, Naitasiri on September 29 and Lautoka on October 6.
