GOALS to Pranil Chand and Inia Boko helped the Navua soccer team hold Lautoka to a 2-all draw during their National Football League match at Thomson Park in Navua yesterday.

The Shop N Save-sponsored Lautoka side had players Alvin Avinesh and Valerio Nawatu but failed to deliver the killer blow.

It was an even match, however, the western giants just could not find their rhythm to score maximum points.

Navua Football acting president Ram Narayan said it was a solid performance from his troops. The Southerners lie second at the bottom of the Fiji Sun/GP Batteries NL table.

"It was a good game from both teams. Lautoka as we know is a good team," Narayan said.

"My boys played well and to have a draw, we are satisfied with that."

Lautoka still remain in fourth position on the table after the draw. Ba still maintains their lead with 35 points, followed closely by Suva and Nadi on 33 points.

Navua have 10 points and needs to win their remaining matches to avoid the promotion relegation series.

Narayan said they needed to regroup well before the next game.

"We are happy with the performance of the boys, they played well especially in front of our home supporters. Inia Boko and Pranil Chand scored the goals for us," he said.
