A HOUSEHOLD name in Fiji, the Tappoos Group of Companies marked its 71 years of service with the launching of their new juice bottling plant at Lautoka that will initially produce the Tarumba range rebranded as Tampico.

Chief executive officer Madhu Tappoo said the launch iterated the group's promise of quality world-class offerings, value adding and innovation.

"The Lautoka plant will produce the Tarumba range rebranded as Tampico, one of the most successful juice drink brands in the world," he said.

"Additions to the line up will include Tappoo's own Juice Up range of juice with 99 per cent reconstituted juice that has no sugar, no added colour and added pulp.

"Tampico US has confirmed that Fiji will be one of the first countries in the world to go with the newly formulated Tampico fruit punches that will have 50 per cent less sugar than the current Tarumba, yet maintaining its great taste profile."

Mr Tappoo thanked the government for its initiative that allowed local manufacturers to import machinery completely duty free.

"I must allude once again to our family trait of always wanting to take up the challenge of acquiring business or an operation that we can add value to mould that into a vibrant well-run entity."
