GOOD news for patients needing hip and knee replacements as they will be treated at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital (CWMH) from next month.
The Ministry of Health confirmed that a team from Sahyadri Hospital Group in India will be arriving in the country on September 17 to provide the specialised treatment.
Ministry spokesman Peni Namotu said this was made possible through the joint venture between the ministry and the Sahyadri Hospital Group. "The services provided by the team are specialised services that are normally provided overseas," Mr Namotu said.
He said diagnostic arthroscopy and repair was also undertaken by the team. "The general public medical insurance companies, ministry referral bodies through the special outpatients' department and clinics are welcome to submit their need for assessment to the secretariat."
