THE Fiji Car Club is all set to host its second drag race at the Taunovo Airstrip in Deuba today.
The daylong event sponsored by Lincoln Refrigeration Limited is expected to draw a large turnout following the success of the quarter mile sprint race two months ago.
Club president Raizal Haniff said Ravi Nair had emerged as the favourites to win this race.
Nair, who will be driving his Mazda RX7 with registration RIPV8R, will face a tough challenge from veterans Ravin Nath and Tauz Khan. Nath, who won the quarter mile sprint event with a record time in June this year, has been dominating the local car racing competition with his Holden Torana, registration 'C MEGO'.
Khan, who is a former champion, owns Mazda RX7 V8 with registration MOOVIT and is in the run for the top finish.
