THE Marist Blue volleyball side was named the Team of Year Male for the third year in a row at the Suva Volleyball Association Awards night at the Suva Lawn Tennis Club yesterday.
A statement from SVA said the boys from Kaunikuila have been the top performing team in the competition since their formation three years ago.
"They currently hold the FBC Challenge Cup now for three seasons running and still post the record of being undefeated in 90 games in a row during the 2010 season," said the statement.
"All their team members are current Suva representatives and since their formation has produced seven national reps.
"Their participation in the FBC Suva Competition has set the standard for other teams," it said.
Eureka's won the Team of the Year Female award and for the last year's male and female Rookie of the Year award winners Kitione Lalakomacau of Cakau and Marist Saints Timaima Lomai retained their awards respectively.
Tamavua Celtics stalwart Jiujiua Koroi was named the Most Valuable Male Player and the female category of the award went to Torika Nuku of Marist Saints.
Joe Mataitoga was awarded the Coach of the Year.
Marist Volleyball Club mascot Inia Vakarewa was named the Administrator of the Year
Inoke Kataiwai, who has been involved with volleyball in Suva for over 20 years, was given the Special Recognition Achievement Award.
